Marilyn Inspired Make-Up (no, not that one, the other one)

Guys have been wearing make-up for as long as we girls have, in fact, with the female free casts of the earliest theatrical days - maybe even longer. Also if we look at the new romantic period in the late seventies to mid eighties there wasn't a bare faced male singer to be seen. Despite this, guys in makeup is often frowned upon and looked at in a very stereotypical way - such as 'oh he's wearing makeup he must want to be a girl' instead of just accepting the fact that makeup should be a completely unisex concept....

....but when Brian Warner emerged on the scene as his infamous character Marilyn Manson I think people tended to react with 'Oh, that guy's wearing makeup - and he's badass!'

Each member of Marilyn's band took their stage names by combining the first name of a female sex symbol and the last name of a serial killer... such as

Marilyn Manson (Marilyn Monroe and Charles Manson)
Olivia Newton Bundy (Olivia Newton John and Ted Bundy)
Ginger Fish (Ginger Rogers and Albert Fish)
Twiggy Ramirez (Twiggy and Richard Ramirez)
Madonna Wayne Gacy (Madonna and John Wayne Gacy)

What name would you pick - I think I would choose Raquel Brady for me.

MAKE-UP

If you look at pictures of Marilyn Manson - no two are exactly the same, he hardly ever wore just one particular style of makeup. So there is really just three things you need to remember with Marilyn's makeup..

1. Heavy eyes
2. Dark lips
3. White face (or very pale)

Here is the picture reference I took for this tutorial
